Our history
Three Decades of Community
Imdadiyyah's Madrassah has been serving the community for around three decades, growing from its foundations in children's Islamic education into a wider space for learning, gatherings and community programmes.
Its Principals, Shaykha Shamim Akhtar and Qari Hafiz Mohammed Ali, have been part of that story throughout. Today Imdadiyyah is directed by Shaykh Mohammed As'ad Ali.

Who we are
Imdadiyyah is an Islamic learning and community space in Sheffield. Our three aims are simple: attain sacred knowledge, serve humanity at large and nurture spirituality.
Why we do it
Our time is different to those before us. For us today, it's about understanding the youth and cultivating the next generation of students, seekers and servants of the Ummah.
How we teach
Traditional texts and a warm, welcoming approach — so that anyone can come as they are to faith as it is.
Who we serve
Children, young people, sisters, brothers and families — whether in our building on Rushby Street or learning online.
